K-7: The Classroom Gardener

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

If you've ever wanted to take your routine classroom learning out of doors, this workshop will give you practical strategies for integrating cross-curricular learning into your school garden. We will explore the many entry points the revised curriculum provides us to jump into a hands-on, highly motivating learning environment. We will look at how classroom teachers can meaningfully integrate the First People’s Principles of Learning into their garden classroom and participants will leave with ready-to-use ideas and lessons that will support their garden teaching, no matter what gardening skills they have! Suitable for K-7 teachers and anyone else interested in working with children in outdoor classrooms.
